Sorry!

It has been close to a month since I last had the chance to blog.  It has been a pretty awful month personally, so I just haven't had time.

Since I've been missing, we've had a lot going on.  We added many new listings, attended craft shows, and are working diligently to fill orders and create new listings.

One thing in particular I'd like to share!  We attended Merry Mart in Baltimore last weekend.  We had a really good time.  We were successful! Here is a picture of our set up!

We are researching more craft shows for next year, so keep an eye out for our schedule.

Happy Crafting!

Buttons!

So sorry for the delay in posting!  Things have been hectic, and I have been out of town, but I have not been slacking on crafting.  I have created a bunch of fun colored buttons to put on bags!  I haven't had time to photograph my bags yet, but I'm hoping to do that tomorrow, or by Monday.  The most tedious part of listing bags is ironing, ironing and more ironing.  That takes forever.  I have close to 30 bags ready to go!  Here is a photo of the buttons before they were attached to the bags.

Keep an eye out for new listings for small clutches with large buttons!

Fabric!

I've been working hard the last week, or so.  I have been so busy getting things ready to sew, I haven't had a chance to blog!  I don't have much to show for all of this work, because I've been working in stages.  I have about 60 small bags (clutches with large buttons and zipper pouches) cut out.  I interfaced all of the clutches, attached the magnetic snaps, created the darts and I am slowly getting them sewn.  I have been sewing a group of them that have similar colors, so I can use a coordinating thread.  I think I work better in assembly line fashion! :)

Here is a photo of my pile of projects!  This was prior to my productive day yesterday!

We are starting a giveaway today!  Check us out on Instagram and Facebook for a chance to enter!

Applique Shirts!

My first attempt at applique went pretty well, actually! I decided I wanted to do something for our craft shows, so we could represent our label.  I considered having them embroidered somewhere, but I didn't really want to spend the money, and have to come up with fonts/logos/etc.  I did some research and found how easy applique actually is!  So here is my first attempt.  I did 5 more shirts, and each one is better than the one before it.  This is literally my first t-shirt...

I used shirts from Target, and I realized halfway through my first shirt that I needed a stabilizer behind it, so the fabric didn't shift as much, so you'll see these letters are not as straight! Don't be too harsh!  I am still working on it.

Are you a LittleGerts fan who is planning to attend our craft show, and would like to help us advertise??  Well, send us a message and we'll get you a shirt!!

Our first craft show is tomorrow, October 19 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansdale, PA from 9 am- 2 pm.  Check out our items in person!

The Biggest Bag Yet.

Today, I conquered my largest bag pattern yet.  This bag was a custom order from a friend I worked with, and I didn't actually have a pattern.  She needed a bag to transport a Cricut Expression with cartridges to and from scrapbooking events.  I had lunch with her in SD when she was traveling and I mentioned my etsy shop, and she was instantly interested.

So, the bag specs- 24 inches long x 20 inches tall x 12 inches wide.  HUGE.  I literally can fit in it.  I had to come up with my own pattern.  I tried searching the internet for a comparable size bag, but couldn't find anything.  I had my pattern for my market bag, and was hoping to modify that to make this bag, but all the math was making my head hurt.  I decided to just cut panels, and go with it.  Here is my creation.

I couldn't get a great picture of it, because I was by myself, and couldn't get my arm far enough away to get a picture!

Don't forget!  We take custom orders.  :)

Braided Infinity Scarves

These braided scarves are one of my favorite styles in the shop.  They are very popular with our customers, especially the mustard yellow one.  I have a bunch already made (ready to ship!), but some are made to order.  I've even been asked to customize this, which is always fun!  It gives me an excuse to go to the store and buy some new yarn :)  It is a good thing I have some of these already made, so we have some for the upcoming craft shows.  Surprisingly enough, these do take a while to make, but I don't mind, since I like them so much.  They can be worn as an accessory, or as a a true scarf with your coat in the winter.  These braided infinity scarves are long enough to be wrapped around your neck to become more of a neck warmer, and keep the bulk out of your jacket!

These Braided Infinity Scarves are included in our "Infinity Scarves" shop section.  Check them out!

Things with Buttons

I thought since I created a new album on Facebook today called, "Things with Buttons," I decided to name this post the same thing!  I have worked on my cowls and neck warmers today.  I had made a bunch of them in San Diego, so I just needed to add the buttons!  Each cowl gets 3 large buttons, and 2 smaller buttons, which are hidden inside to help keep it situated correctly.  Sewing buttons onto items takes a lot longer than you would think.... So I'm leaving you after this short blog post to sew on more buttons.  Perhaps I will dream of buttons tonight!

Here are some of my finished cowls, with tags, so they are craft show ready!

Check out our section called "Things with Buttons" on Etsy for more!

Craft Show Season Preparations

Craft show season is upon us.  Well, at least the holiday craft shows are coming up soon!  LittleGerts will be participating in 2, possibly 3, craft shows in October, November and maybe December!  We are really looking forward to it.  So, what is happening around the craft rooms, you may ask?  Well, I just flew back to PA with all of my finished products in my suitcase.  It weighed 47.4 pounds.  I hadn't weighed my bag before I got to the airport, and I was actually really worried when I had to put it on the scale.  I even asked my husband how much he thought it weighed... He said I may be in trouble...  But I made it.  I think I may have considered paying the overage amount for this bag, had it been because I wasn't taking anything out!  It ALL needed to be transported East!

Here is my organized bag-
I kept all of the big bags together, all the knitted and crocheted items together, and then the small ones in their own bags.  I am definitely not usually this organized, but I needed to so if my bag was searched by TSA, they wouldn't just spew out of my bag all over their table.  I'm pretty sure I'd be missing a bag or two if that happened. :)

So, moral of the story is.... Check us out at some upcoming craft shows in PA... Maybe some on the West Coast in 2014!

October 19- Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansdale, PA- 9am- 2pm
November 16- Bensalem High School, Bensalem, PA- 9am- 3pm

Craft Cave!

Since I moved to California, I had been crafting all over the place, including the couch, kitchen table, and the recliner.  One day my wonderful husband offered me his man cave.  I couldn't believe it.  He loves going up to the man cave in the loft to play his video games.  At first, I said, "Oh no, I couldn't do that."  And he insisted.  (I'm pretty sure he was tired of having my ironing board in the middle of the living room, and my sewing things ALL over the kitchen table, and a new bookshelf under the stairs.)

So, I moved!  I relocated to the loft!  Here is the first photo of my Craft Cave!

Believe me, it's not so neat anymore :)  I have been trying to organize my fabric in those cute cubby boxes, and as soon as I have it finished, I'll post a picture!! I keep getting distracted, though, because I see a pretty fabric I forgot about, and have to make something with it!

Happy Crafting!!
